Boys Soccer 2013-03-19 vs Getchell

THEY DID IT!!!

After dozens of close-but-not-quite losses and an occasional 1-goal win over the past few years, the Oak Harbor boys soccer team got it all together to beat the Marysville-Getchell Chargers 4-2 Tuesday night at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Getchell got on the board first, but Cayley Powers tied it up in the 17the minute.  Getchell went ahead again with just 30 seconds left in the half and led 2-1 at halftime.

Andrew Mitchell scored in the 47th minute to tie the game, and for the next 14 minutes it was back-and-forth soccer, until...

Just over halfway through the second half, Chase Muller lined up for a free kick and it sailed over the keeper's head and into the next to give OH a 3-2 lead.  What was even more remarkable about the shot is that Muller kicked it from over 40 yards out!

Cayley Powers scored again late, with less than 2 minutes left, going one-on-one with the Charger keeper and the 'Cats walked away with a convincing 4-2 win.
