Boys soccer update

The Wildcats ended the 2012-2013 regular season last Wednesday with a pair of wins over the visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks.

The JV team went out and won their game 2-1, then before the varsity game, the team took time to recognize eight graduating seniors along with their parents.

Playing their final game at Wildcat Memorial Stadium were Tommy Murphy, Isaiah Trower, Matt Jensen, Bernard Deguzman, Jake Melnick, Isaac Matthews, Jordan Gonzales and Cayden Cosper.

In the varsity match, the Wildcats scored first on an Andrew Mitchell score, then the Wildcat defense and keeper Kevin Silveira shut down the Tommies to preserve the win and earning the 'Cats a home game for the first round of the playoffs.

In that first game the Wildcats won 2-1 on a 5-4 shootout, with Caley Powers popping in the 5th goal of the shootout to advance Oak Harbor to a playoff game against powerhouse Shorewood on May 7th at Shoreline Stadium.  When the Wildcats win, they will have a berth in the state tournament, if not, they move to the consolation bracket and have to win two game to move on.

Photos from the match vs Pilchuck are posted HERE
