Boys Soccer 2015-03-14 vs Anacortes

It was a very windy day Saturday afternoon as the Wildcat soccer team started their season with a pair of games against Anacortes at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

In the JV game, the visiting Seahawks took advantage of the strong winds to score 3 first-half goals against the 'Cats.

In the 2nd half, now with the wind at their backs, the Wildcats scored twice themselves, but could not get that 3rd goal to tie the game and fell 3-2.

Photos from the JV game are posted HERE.

In varsity action, the two teams played to a 0-0 halftime tie, but in the 2nd half, with Anacortes having the wind at their backs, the tide turned.

The Seahawks scored two goals in just over 1 minute to take a 2-0 lead that would stand to the end of the game.

Varsity photos are posted HERE.

The OHHS baseball team kicked off their 2015 campaign with a trip to Langley for a jamboree against South Whidbey and Kamiak.

The teams played in a round-robin format, 3 innings each.  Oak Harbor started against South Whidbey then played Kamiak.

In the first game, Oak Harbor got off to a great start on offense, with the first four batters all getting hits, and built a 3-0 lead.  In the 3rd inning, the starters came out and South Whidbey got 4 straight runs to end the 3rd.

No OH/Kamiak score was immediately available.

Some photos from the game are posted HERE.
