I was the last game of the season at the softball fields at Hillcrest Elementary Tuesday afternoon. Since it was the last game, each senior was introduced along with her parents. I was happy to see that every girl had at least one parent present, and most had both. That's a great showing by the parents for the early game time. I got there early enough that I got some photos of each of the seniors with their parents, and as a group out at the pitcher's mound.While the game, and the season, did not go as planned, the girls seemed to be enjoying themselves and showed a lot of support for each other during the game.

Jessica Kallandar had a really special day, tying then breaking the OHHS fastpitch record for hits in a season. She was 3-3 on the day with a home run off of a girl that was last year's all-metro area #1 pitcher. The pitcher from Monroe has accepted a scholarship to play at Illinois State University. Well done Jess!
