It was a beautiful day for tennis, and at Oak Harbor High School, the OHHS tennis team played beautifully, evening their season record at 4-4 with a convincing win over league rival Monroe, 6-1.
The Wildcats won all 3 doubles matches for the first time this year, and 3 of 4 singles matches. All matches were in straight sets, with senior Ryan Evans blanking his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
In other singles action, Jordan Kingma won 6-2, 6-0 and sophomore Josh Evans won 6-1, 6-0, with Derek Thomas still not 100%, falling 6-1, 6-2.
On the doubles courts, the pair of Jewell and Valles wont 6-2, 6-3, Baleros and Marshall 6-2, 6-2, and O'Dell and Holbrook 6-3, 6-2.
In an additional, non-scoring match, sophomore Matthew Rice won by shutting out his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
