The Whidbey Wildcat Wrestling Club participated in two tournaments over the weekend, one on Saturday (at Lynnwood HS) and one on Sunday (at Inglemoor HS).
The Lynnwood tournament had a small Wildcat showing, with only 10 wrestlers participating. That was due to an illness, and many novice wrestlers only wrestled the Sunday tournament.
Even with only 10 wrestlers, the Wildcats pulled off an 8th place showing out of 14 teams.
One wrestler finished in 1st place, two finished 2nd, 2 in 3rd and 2 in 4th, and combined recorded 7 pins.
Sunday was the Western Washington Kids Wrestling League Pre-Season Novice tournament. This tournament was open only to 1st and 2nd year wrestlers, and WWWC sent 13 wrestlers.
Of those wrestlers, 3 were group champions, and 8 finished in 4th place. There was also one 2nd place and one 3rd place finisher. Combined the accumulated 4 pins.
Next up for the Wildcat Wrestlers is the Ferndale Folkstyle Tournament at Ferndale HS north of Bellingham on Nov 22nd.
