Softball girls win 2nd game! 5-1 vs Lake Stevens - update 5-3

The OH softball varsity girls knocked in 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning in an exciting come-from-behind win over the Vikings at Hillcrest Elementary School last Friday afternoon.

Junior Nikki Mowbray was 2-3, with both hits home runs, scoring 3 runs. Pitcher Kayla Ratliff also hit a home run to drive in another 2 runs.

In the outfield, Kim Mowbray recorded 5 putouts, including a highlight-worthy catch where she tripped and fell going for the ball but still managed to catch the ball for the out.

Coach Weikle said "we had a great game - the first time this season started the game in the hole and came out on top".

The JV team also had a come-from-behind victory. The girls scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead then held it through the top of the 7th.
Coach Showalter said "Reilly Sanderfur hit a single with runners on 2nd and 3rd to put the Wildcats ahead by 1 and Kasie Brown followed that up with a RBI single to put us up by 2".

The softball teams have two more home games this year. Next Wednesday the 6th against Arlington, then Senior Day on the 11th vs Marysville.
