Oak Harbor athletes competed in a total of 16 events at the first day of the District 1 track meet at Shoreline Stadium.
For the boys, the 4x100 relay team finished in 3rd place with a time of 44.13 and the 4x400 relay team was 8th in 3:36.12.
Individually, Stephen Lewis finished 6th overall in both the 100 and 200m dash while freshman Josiah Miller was 17th in the 200.
Josh Duhrkopf was 6th in the 800 and Cody Klauer was 10th, just 3 1/2 seconds behind Josh.
Dejon Pruitt didn't have a good day and was unable to clear the starting height.
The girls 4x100 relay finished 2nd in 50.78 and the 4x200 relay was 7th with a time of 1:50.51.
Individually, Shantae Young was crowned District 1 champ in the long jump with a distance of 17-6.25. Shantae was also 4th in the 100m dash, tying her personal best of 12.79.
There were two freshmen from the girls team at the district meet: Christina Alexander (8th in the 100m dash) and Maura McKole (5th in the 400m dash). Christina set a new PR in her race - 13.27.
Janessa Ramos, Adrianna Royal and Allison Duvenez represented the sophomore class, with Janessa 8th in the 200m dash, Addy 4th in the 800 and Allison 9th in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles.
Rounding out the girls events on day one were senior Claire Trepanier, finishing 12th in the 800 with a new PR (2:28.85), and senior Becky Freeman in the discus. She finished 12th overall, and added 3 feet to her previous best, tossing the disc 88-3.
The meet continues Friday at Shoreline Stadium.
