Oak Harbor will be moving to 3A next year and as a result will face many new opponents as WESCO league officials have reconfigured the league into a North, South, and now separate 3A divisions.
WESCO North will be Arlington, Lake Stevens, Marysville-Pilchuck, Monroe, Snohomish and Stanwood.
The South will have Cascade, Edmonds-Woodway, Jackson, Kamiak and Mariner.
WESCO 3A will be OH, Everett, Glacier Peak, Lynnwood, Meadowdale, Shorecrest and Shorewood.
The new alignment will apply to the following team sports: Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball and Wrestling.
The current North/South alignment will continue for the individual sports: Cross Country, Track, Golf and Swimming
While the new alignment will increase travel times, it moves OH from being one of the smallest 4A school into one of the largest 3A schools.
