The OHHS Spring sports season (home edition) started off with a JV tennis match vs Monroe at the OHHS tennis courts. At the same time, the varsity team was at Monroe.
In the JV matches the Wildcats swept in singles, winning all four matches in straight sets. Coach Garry Brown was especially impressed by the play of Kristen Shields at 3rd singles who "destroyed her opponent" 6-1, 6-1. The JV girls added a win at 1st doubles (Ashley Leslie and Kim Kerley) to win the match 5-2. Leslie and Kerley went to a tiebreaker in the 2nd set to win 6-0, 7-6 (3). Monroe responded by sweeping the exhibition matches but OH got the match win.
JV winners were:

The varsity results were quite similar. OH swept the singles matches for the 4-3 win. Both 1st and 2nd doubles went to 3 sets before Monroe ultimately prevailed. Coach Mells said that it was a close contest that could have gone either way. He gave credit to Clarissa Abadesco for pulling out a win in a hard-fought 3-set match.

Shannon Neilon and Joyce Abides lost to Kailand and McLaughlin 6-4, 7-5

Darcy Fremd and Ashley Haynes lost to Amsberry and O'Mally 8-2
McKenzie and Van Dam lost to Love and Zuehlsdoaf 8-4
The varsity girls open their home season Wednesday vs Lake Stevens and are home again on Friday vs Arlington.
