The softball teams were in action last Friday against the Lake Stevens Vikings. The varsity team was hammered early as Lake Stevens took a 5-0 first inning lead and scored once more to win 6-0.
The JV game started in a similar fashion, with the Vikings knocking the ball all over the place. Even after spotting a big lead, the JV team made it exciting at the end. Lake Stevens was holding onto a 7-5 lead but the Wildcats had just loaded the bases, putting the winning run at first with two outs. Unfortunately, the final batter grounded out to the pitcher to end the game. Coach Strain praised pitcher Sam Zimmerman who struck out 4 batters and allowed only one walk.
The next home game for the softball teams is today, Tuesday, at the Hillcrest Fields.
