Wednesday night the Oak Harbor freshmen completed the 3-team sweep of Shorewood in football by defeating the Thunderbirds 70-0.
On Monday the JV squad traveled to Shoreline Stadium and shut out the T-birds 48-0. It was the JV team's first shutout of the season. Carlos Beltran scored first from 6 yards out and on the ensuing kickoff the 'cats forced a fumble on the Shorewood 4 yard line. Beltran took the ball in again. Anthony Smith threw two TD passes and Troy Sturdevant added a TD pass of his own.
Wednesday it was just ugly. Oak Harbor's first four touchdowns came on 1 play drives of 10, 2, 25 and 10 yards each. At the 9:49 mark in the 2nd quarter it was OH 29, Shorewood 0 and by halftime it was 50-0 after a 55 yard interception return. Oak Harbor opened the second half by running the kickoff 91 yards into the T-bird end zone and scored twice more on 59 and 16 yard runs.
The JV squad is at home Monday at 5:30pm and the Freshmen travel to Everett Wednesday for their next games.
