Saturday was a big day for Oak Harbor Youth Football.
First, at Mt. Vernon HS, the peewee Bobcats won the NCYFL Mountain division championship game by trouncing previously undefeated Sedro Woolley 21-6. Great job Bobcats!
At Ferndale, the 4-3 Pumas took on 5-2 Bellingham and won, setting up a possible faceoff between the two OH Junior teams for the championship, as the 7-0 Jaguars easily beat 3-4 Arlington Gold at OH.
In the senior division, the 6-2 Wildcats were at home and took care of business, beating 5-3 Arlington Gold.
The Panthers played at Arlington Blue and were eliminated from the playoffs.
This Saturday, 11/5/2011, there will be 5 games total at Wildcat Memorial Stadium. The day starts with two midget games. Arlington Gold takes on Stanwood at 10am then Burlington Gold plays Arlington Blue at 12 noon.
At 2pm the 8-0 Jaguars take on 6-2 Arlington Blue, then the 5-3 Pumas play 7-1 Ferndale at 4pm. The two winners of the junior games play each other for the Mountain Division championship.
Finally, at 6pm, the senior Wildcat team, now 7-2, plays undefeated Ferndale. The winner of that game plays the winner of the Sedro Woolley-Burlington game, which will be taking place at Mt. Vernon HS.
Admission to all games is free and concessions will be available. Come down and root for Oak Harbor Football!
