Tuesday night the Oak Harbor girls soccer team hosted the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks. It was a varsity-only matchup as with an ever-dwindling JV roster, the decision was made to cancel the JV game.
While the varsity team gave up 3 goals in the first half of the game, they allowed only one in the second half. Also, the 3 goals came with a strong wind at the back of the Tommies. When the field was reversed at halftime, the wind died down and was not much assistance to the Wildcats.
The girls are on the road tonight, Thursday, at Getchell and again next Monday at Everett. They finish the season next Wednesday, October 24th against Stanwood. The team will recognize their graduating seniors in a short ceremony before the game.
