Although it was cold and windy, there were a lot of great performances Thursday afternoon at Wildcat Memorial Stadium as the Oak Harbor track squad hosted the Monroe Bearcats and Edmonds-Woodway Warriors.
On the boys side, OH was able to claim victory in just 4 events. Clayton Richardson won the 800 in 2:09.04 and John Rodeheffer won the 3200 in 10:16.45. Kekai Tarrant won the Javelin in a personal best distance of 145-1 and the boys 4x400 relay team, consisting of Richardson, Noel Cheeseboro, Patrick Mayer and Ceasar Sebastian won their race in 3:54.34.
Nabbing 2nd for the boys were Rodeheffer in the 1600, Mayer in the 300 hurdles, Jeremy Foster in the shot put, Jackson Constant in discus and Ben Olson in the high jump.
For the girls, it was Ciera Wiser's day. She won all three events she entered - High Jump (4-8), Triple Jump (31-1) and Javelin - setting a PR in the jav with a toss of 117-3. Taylor Deconzo and Elizabeth Adkins won the shot put and discus to completed the OH sweep of the throwing events. Taylor set a PR in shot with a throw of 31-0 and Elizabeth in discus with a 97-7.
Oak Harbor also won 3 events on the track. Suzanne Kaltenbach won the 400 in 1:08.80, Christina Wicker poured on the gas in the second mile to take the 3200 in 11:39.35 and the girls 4x200m relay team (Mattie Miesle, Deja Bunch, Jessica Hollins and Sierra Seabolt).
Getting second places finishes were Jessica Hollins in the 100 and 200m dash, Wicker in the 800, Alex Laiblin in the 3200, Claire Anderson in the high jump and Natalie McVey in the pole vault.
Next week the team is on the road with a meet at Marysville-Pilchuck HS.
