XC 2014-11-01 District 1 championships

by David Svien

The Wildcats are running off to Pasco.

Well, a few of them are, at least.

Oak Harbor High School qualified three runners for next weekend's state 3A cross country meet (Saturday, Nov. 8) and just missed out on sending its entire girls' team.

The Wildcat girls placed fourth at districts, missing the cut by one team. Glacier Peak, Mountlake Terrace and Arlington claimed top honors.

On the boys side, the 'Cats finished fifth out of 13 teams, but did have the individual winner in senior John Rodeheffer. He zipped around the 5,000 meter course in 15 minutes, 36.09 seconds.

Joining him at state will be senior Jonalynn Horn (2nd) and sophomore Laura Rodeheffer (14th). The top 15 individuals advanced.
