MSGBB 2015-02-17 - NWMS at OHMS

The NWMS and OHMS 8th grade girls basketball teams came together before the game for a quick photo op.

The two middle schools kicked off the 2015 basketball season with a pair of games at Oak Harbor Middle School.

In the 7th grade game, OH grabbed an early lead and held it on their way to a 23-12 victory.  Scoring for OHMS were Mia (11), Willa (4), Haley (4), Chibira (2), and Ronica (2).  If your name is misspelled, let me know and I'll fix it... I was going off what was handwritten in the scorebook.

For NWMS, Tessa scored 8 and Madison 4 points.

The 8th grade game looked like it was going to be another OHMS victory, as the Panthers led 19-13 at the half.

However, the Cougars had other thoughts, and by halfway through the 3rd quarter had cut the OHMS lead to just one point, 20-19, then took the lead 29-28 with 5:55 left to go in the game, then won 35-28.

For NWMS, Taylyn scored 18 points, Kynser 10, Brenna 3 and Rosa and Momo 2 each.

On the OHMS side, Miranda had 17, Jenna 5, with both Emilys and Jasmine scoring 2 points each.
