United, they will triumph.

Having assembled a juggernaut of a cross country squad by combining two middle schools, Wildcat United is on the prowl.

The team, which brings together fleet-footed harriers from North Whidbey Middle School and Oak Harbor Middle School, won three of four individual races at its home opener Oct. 1.

Running at Windjammer Park, the 'Cats captured titles in the 7th grade boys race and both of the 8th grade duels.

Peyton Horn won the eighth-grade boys title, crossing the course in a crisp nine minutes, 56 seconds.

Joining him on the victory stand were eighth-grader Patti Miessner (10:54) and seventh-grader Anthony Ashworth (10:32).
