After winning their season opener 7-0, the Wildcat boys tennis team dropped back-to-back matches against Shorecrest and Shorewood last Friday and Monday.
In the Shorecrest match, only senior Brandon Vagt was able to get a win with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 decision over Lyn Vergara. All the other Wildcats lost in straight sets except 2nd doubles Eric Berner and Michael Serna who won their first set before losing the final 2.
On Monday, Shorewood swept the 'Cats 7-0. 2nd singles Josh Evans came close to a win with scores of 4-6, 5-7. Brandon Vagt played well in the first set, going to 4 tiebreakers before falling 6-7(4) but was beaten 1-6 in the 2nd set.
Oak Harbor is now 1-2 on the season and should be able to start playing matches at the new OHHS courts very soon.
