The OHHS girls tennis team has been busy this past week with not only scheduled matches but making up rained out matches from the previous week.
On April 12th, the varsity team swept the singles matches at Glacier Peak and captured a doubles match to win 5-2 Cady O'Dell won 7-5, 6-1, Belen Cifuents 6-0, 6-3, Clarissa Abadesco 6-1, 6-0 and Alexa Holmly 6-2, 6-1. The doubles winners were Jen Fremd and Cassie Gianino, who won 6-3, 6-2.
Two days later at home, the singles swept their opponent again, and again in straight sets. This time, though, the doubles teams were not able to pick up a win so the final score was 4-3 in favor of OH.
On Monday the 18th Everett came to town and broke the 'Cats winning streak. Oak Harbor was able to pick up only a single win when Abadesco beat her opponent 6-2, 6-0.
The team got back on the win track Wednesday with a big 6-1 win over Lynnwood at Lynnwood. A slightly revised singles lineup of O'Dell, Cifuentes, Abadesco and now Jordan Faralan all won in straight sets. In double action, #2 Shoko Yamaguchi and Jennifer Bowers won 7-5, 6-2 and #3 Molly Van Dam and Jen Fremd won 6-2, 6-0.
