Since the varsity team will be playing in a tournament in Bellevue over the Christmas break, the JV and freshman teams had open dates, and filled one of them with a game at home against the Lake Stevens Vikings/Cavalero Mid-High Mustangs. Both games were played in the main gym.
In the Freshman game, the Wildcats struggled throughout as the Cavalero Mid-High Mustangs rolled to a 64-18 win. Scoring was evenly spread throughout the Wildcat team with 9 players scoring points and no player getting more than 7. Leading the 'Cats was Elijah Smith with 7. Shane Huttula scored 5 and Diangelo McKinney 4. Alex Harrison, Savon Passmore, Preston Rankin, Sean Erskine, Tanner Walker and Dante Mitchell each scored 2 points.
The JV game was much closer, with Oak Harbor winning 65-51. Donavan Sellgren led the scoring with 19 points, Dyllan Harris right behind with 18. Zach Jones contributed 10, Jake Sturdevant 7, JJ Johnson 6, Isaiah Rennes and Conner Parmenter 2 each and Gage Eccleston 1.
The boys are all at Snohomish next Tuesday the 4th, then open league play at home on Friday the 7th against a powerful Stanwood team.
The JV/Freshman teams will play Saturday the 15th at Cascade.
