Youth soccer 2011-10-22 @ Ft. Nugent

What a day! Saturday's games started in a pouring rain and ended in blazing sunshine.

In the next-to-last week of games in the fall season, there were still a lot of soccer to be played, rain or no rain.

With photos of all the U-6 teams and all but one of the U8 teams done, this weekend is mostly U-10 and U-12 action.

In girls games, we finally got to the final GU-8 team. The Teal Diamonds vs the Purple Lightning girls. 55 photos of the game are posted HERE.

In the final girls game of the day, the Red TNT from Coupeville took on the Red Dragons from North Whidbey. Yes, both teams were in red. Coupeville had white trim on their jerseys while North Whidbey had black sleeves. To compound the confusion even more, the Dragons were short on players and had to borrow two from Coupeville, who wore orange bibs over their jerseys. You can see photos from this game posted HERE.

In boys games, the BU-10 Blue Soccer Brawlers played the Green Tsunami, with photos posted HERE.

Finally, in what has to be the two most interestingly named teams this year, the Green Enraged Monkeys played the Orange Gangsta Gummi Bears in BU-12 action. Those photos are posted HERE.

Youth Soccer 2011-09-17 @ Ft. Nugent Park

The Fall Youth Soccer season is underway, with teams playing their second game of the year at Oak Harbor's Ft. Nugent complex.

We were able to get photos at 6 games, linked below.

First up were the GU-6 White Pegasus Unicorns, wearing green uniforms, vs the Purple Sporty Dolphins, sponsored by GO Realty. 53 photos are posted HERE.

Next were the BU-6 Red Dragons, sponsored by All Island Pest Control against the Grey Super Seagulls. 49 photos are HERE

The as-yet-to-be-named BU-6 White team played the Lime Meanie Greenies and 53 photos are HERE.

Youth soccer 2010-10-09

The fall Youth Soccer season is half over, and as usual, there here hundreds of young soccer players running all over the fields. While it was a cool, cloudy day, the rain held off until most of the younger kids were done.

Youth soccer 2010-09-11

The North Whidbey Soccer Club started their fall season on Saturday with a full slate of 18 games.

We were able to get to 7 of them and the photos are posted below.

The BU-6 Black Steamers played the Green Rhinos with 29 photos posted HERE.

Also at BU-6, the Grey Dragons took on the Yellow Jackets. 19 photos are posted HERE. The Dragons are sponsored by Angelo's Cafe on Pioneer Way.

The final BU-6 game was the yellow Golden Tigers vs the Red Fireballs. 35 photos are HERE.

The one BU-8 game was the Blue Scorpions vs the Green Dragons. 54 images are HERE


In girls action, it was the GU-6 Green Tinkerbells and the Purple Sharks - 26 photos

Another unnamed team, GU-6 Blue, played the Pink Unicorns with 47 photos HERE. The Unicorns are sponsored by Moving & Grooving just off Goldie Rd. in Oak Harbor.

Finally, the GU-8 Purple Raspberry Rockets went up against a Blue team with no name. 56 photos can be found by clicking HERE.

There won't be any youth soccer photos again until October 9th due to prior commitments.

I still plan to get some action photos, at least, of every team U10 and below before the end of the season
