Girls Golf 2015-03-24 - Whidbey Shootout

The girls golf season got underway at the Whidbey Golf Club in Oak Harbor as the Wildcats hosted 70 girls golfers from 12 other schools to the annual Whidbey Shootout.

Kamiak was first in team scoring with 468.  Oak Harbor was 8th overall with 541 and 2nd in 3A, behind Glacier Peak with 523 and ahead of Arlington with 576.

While the medalist, from Jackson HS shot a 78 over the 18 holes, the Oak Harbor scores were not shabby.  Rosie Mooki led the 'Cats with 96, then Marisa Sligh with 100, Hailey Beecher with 103 and Hannah Taylor with 113.

The next day, the girls traveled to Everett and thumped their host at the Legion Golf Coure 254-291.  Three of the 5 Wildcats all beat Everett's top finisher for the win.  Mooki again led the team with a 44 over 9 holes.  Beecher was next with a 46, Sligh with 50, Tarra Baird 55 and Hannah Taylor 59.

The varsity girls return home on April 15th for a dual with Getchell, and the JV gets their first home match on April 20th, hosting Glacier Peak, Getchell and Monroe.
