They bounced right back.
Coming off a narrow loss, the Oak
Harbor High School boys' tennis team rebounded smartly Monday, Oct. 12,
drilling host Marysville-Pilchuck 5-2.
The win lifted the Wildcats to 6-6 on the season, 5-5 in Wesco North action.
The
'Cats will have to fight hard to finish above .500, however, as first place
Everett (10-2, 8-0) is the final team on the schedule before the league
tourney kicks off Oct. 20-21 in Arlington.
Varsity results:
1st singles -- Jackson Wezeman beat Andy Hougan 6-0, 6-0
2nd singles -- Rodrigo Columbo beat Logan Plant 6-2, 7-6(5)
3rd singles -- Ramond Paraiso beat Griffin Hubbert 6-1, 6-1
4th singles -- Calib Byers beat Isaac Honeyman 6-1, 6-1
1st doubles -- Jared Hunt/Matthew Hallahan lost to Tyler Griffith/Connor Gross 7-6(5), 7-5
2nd doubles -- Matt Molitor/Aziya Sanders beat Nate Peterson/Connor Peterson 6-0, 7-6(5)
3rd doubles -- Sidney Thomas/Jae-Kyung Kwak lost to John Turral/Colby Evans 7-6(5), 6-0
While the varsity came out on top, the Wildcat JV wasn't as lucky, falling 6-1 to Lake Stevens in its own match.
