Saying goodbye to the three seniors on the Oak Harbor girls swim team - Sophie Dickinson, Marissa Morris and Mariel Empinado, the Wildcats hosted the Mt. Vernon Bulldogs at Vanderzicht Memorial Pool in Oak Harbor.
While Mt. Vernon won in the team scoring in a squeaker, 93-87, the Wildcats did well in the meet.
In the final event of the day, the 4x100 free relay featured the three seniors and Baelee Whitinger, and the quartet splashed to a 1st place finish in 4:43.49.
Morris also won the 200 free.
Taliah Black won two individual events, the 200 IM and 100 breast, and Natalie Hahn and Kelly Gruenwald added points by finishing 1-2 in the diving competition.
Three days later the 'Cats swam against another 4A school - Kamiak - falling 101-84 in team scoring.
That ended the regular season. There's a last chance qualifer at Pilchuck on 10/29, then the District meet at the Snohomish Aquatic Center on Nov 6th and 7th.
