Marysville-Pilchuck had a long ride back home.
Absorbing three
losses in three matches Tuesday, the Tomahawk spikers felt the full
wrath of host Oak Harbor, and it stung. Badly.
The Wildcat varsity romped to a 25-22, 25-13, 13-25, 25-22 win, improving to 4-4 in Wesco North action, 4-6 overall.
While the main crew was winning, the young guns also came away with victories.
The
'Cat JV ran away with a 25-19, 25-19, 26-24 win, sparked by the play of
Andrea Ruben (21 assists, 9 aces, 10 digs), Cami Bristow (9 assists, 6
kills) and Chloe Stowell (10 kills).
Also winning in straight
sets, though the action went on a big longer, was Oak Harbor's C Team,
which triumphed 31-29, 25-22, 23-25.
"After waking up, we eliminated mistakes and played disciplined defense," said 'Cat coach Cory Whitmore.
He praised Megan Flood and Cierra Dean for their play, while singling out Taylyn Boop, who "was great at the net."
