BBB 2010-01-26 vs Everett

The Everett Seagulls were in Oak Harbor Tuesday night for the second meeting of the season.

In the dome, the freshman team led 13-11 at the end of the first period but Everett scored 22 points in the 2nd to take a 33-30 lead into the half. Oak Harbor made up the difference in the 3rd and tied the game at 46. Fouling proved to be the difference in the game as Everett scored 18 points in the final period, 10 of them off free throws, while OH netted only 8. The final score was 64-54 in favor of Everett. Kiefer Hermann led the freshman team with 16 points, half of them off free throws and Anfernee Angkaw added 12 points, 5 off free throws. London Cook and Trenton Cargill scored 8 each, Isaiah Trower 4, Dayne Herron 3, Michael LaBelle 2 and Jackson Knoll 1.

JV was evenly played in the first half, with OH leading 9-7 in the first and 20-17 at halftime. In the 3rd, however, OH was outscored 14-7 and Everett took a 31-27 lead. The Seagulls added another 18 in the final period to win 49-33. Brooks led the scoring with 12 points and Corey Houck added 9. David Tillotson scored 5, Matt Burgoyne 4, Paul Johannsen 2 and Connor Paul 1.

The varsity game was a back-and-forth, closely contested game for 32 minutes. OH was down 2 after 1 period, 13-15 and was down by 1, 22-21 at halftime. The Wildcats recovered, helped by 6 Denzel Hardin points led 38-34 at the start of the final period. OH maintained a the lead for most of the period, but Everett came back to take a 1-point lead then Stevie Bratt sank a free throw to tie the game and it went to overtime tied at 53. Oak Harbor owned the extra period, outscoring Everett 11-3 to win 64-56.
