Girls Tennis - week ending 2013-03-22

The OH girls tennis team was able to get a pair of matches in last week against Everett and Getchell.

Only one JV score is available - the match at home against Everett on the 22nd.

OH won the match 5-2, sweeping all the singles matches.

AnnaBelle Whitefoot won 6-1, 6-0, Jessica Ganswig won 6-2, 4-6, 10-7, Erina Horikawa won 6-3, 6-0 and Ajoney Smalls won 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles action, the 2nd doubles team of Irysh Concepcion and Patrice Woodworth won 6-1, 6-2.  Even though both 1st and 2nd doubles lost, both teams went to a 3rd set tiebreaker.

On Tuesday the varsity squad hosted the Maryvsille Getchell Chargers and won a close 4-3 match.

At first doubles it was Chelsea Admire and Jamie Estrella winning 7-6, 6-1, at 2nd doubles Zena Husler and Alyssa Eden 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 and at 3rd doubles Brittany Rigby and Cat Amsler won 6-1, 6-3.

Faith Franssen was the lone singles winner, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-2.

Thursday the varsity team was at Everett with a slightly reshuffled lineup.  As is becoming a trend, the doubles teams are sweeping their competition, so any singles win ensures the team victory.

On Friday, it was Admire and Estrella at 1st doubles winning 6-3, 7-6(3) and Husler and Eden at 2nd doubles winning 6-3, 6-4, but it was McKinley Kellogg and Dallas Breilein winning 6-2, 6-4 at 3rd doubles.

A 6-3, 6-0 win by Brittany Rigby at 4th singles gave OH their second 4-3 victory of the week.
