The Cross Country season for Oak Harbor started with a bang.
Traveling to Everett on Sep 19th, the boys team annihilated their opponents, sweeping the top 6 spots for a perfect score. John Rodeheffer was first, Clayton Richardson 2nd, Logan Clark 3rd, Sebastian Ceasar 4th, Nathan Richardson 5th and Nathan Wagner 6th.
The girls were almost as perfect, giving up the top 2 spots, but the depth of the Wildcat program gave them the team win. Alex Laiblin was 3rd, Jonalynn Horn 4th, Carolynn Wicker 5th, Natalie Fiallos 6th and Suzanne Kaltenbach 7th.
That weekend the team made their annual trip to Seaside, Oregon for the 3-course challenge. John Rodeheffer was first on the hard course and boosted OH to an overall 2nd place win. Clayton Richardson was 5th in the same race.
For the girls, Alex Laiblin was 3rd on the hard course and Laura Rodeheffer 9th which allowed the girls to also capture an overall 2nd place finish.
Back on the local circuit, the runners went to Maryville and captured first place in both the boys and girls races, and JV
Again, John Rodeheffer won the boys varsity race and Alex Laiblin the girls race. The boys JV race was won by Cascade, but with Joe Gorman in 2nd, Mathew Nortier n 3rd, Ziwei Peng in 6th, Alex Hartley in 7th and Patrick Abercrombie in 9th, the Wildcats won the team title.
This coming Thursday, October 3rd, the Wildcats have their one and only home meet of the year, hosting
