The Oak Harbor AAU boys teams moved from the WESCO youth league this year into Skagit County's SWISH league and held their first, seeding game, Saturday at various locations in Mt. Vernon.
The day started with the 7th grade team at the Immaculate Conception gym in Mt. Vernon facing the Lake Stevens 'Lakers'. Lake Stevens had a strong, experienced team and defeated the Wildcats 38-18.
Just 10 photos from the 7th grade game are HERE. Shooting conditions in the gym were just horrible, so not many photos were of the proper quality. Sorry!
Next were the 6th grade boys, also at IC. They played a very close game against Jackson that came down to the final minutes, but Jackson held on to win 26-23.

Moving to Skagit Valley College, the 5th grade team fell by just a single point to Mt. Baker, 18-17. The two teams were very even and the game could have gone either way.
32 photos from the 5th grade game are posted HERE.
Finally, the 8th grade team completely dominated the Sultan Turks, 36-17. Sultan just didn't have and answer for the Oak Harbor press and overall team speed.
HERE are the 8th grade pics.
A single 2-minute video highlight with 2 clips from each game is posted HERE.
