Softball vsLake Stevens, Arlington & Lynnwood

After the scheduled season opener at Sedro Woolley was postponed due to snow, the Wildcat girls opened the 2012 season by hosting the Mt. Vernon Bulldogs, coming away with a 4-2 victory. MV did not field a JV team that day due to a lack of eligible players.

Photos of the Mt. Vernon game, including preseason team photos, are posted HERE.

Next the girls went to powerful Sedro where there were thumped 13-0 by the Cubs.

Coming back home, varsity beat Lake Stevens 7-5 for their 2nd win of the season.

In their final preseason game, the Wildcats hosted Arlington, who went to state last year and is picked to finish #1 in the WESCO North this year. While the Wildcat girls played hard, a 9-run first inning by the Eagles put the game away. The final was 15-0. The JV squad also lost in 5 innings, but were able to get one run across the plate.

JV and Varsity photos from the Arlington game are posted HERE.

On March 20th, the girls traveled to Lynnwood to open league play and could not get their offense on track, falling 11-1. The JV squad, while not getting a win, pushed 8 runs across the plate in their 14-8 loss.

Next for the girls a league-leading Everett at OHHS on Friday.
