Coming off a tough 3-1 loss at home to Mountlake Terrace on Tuesday, the Wildcat volleyball team pulled together and swept the visiting Glacier Peak Grizzlies 3-0 Thursday night.
OH jumped to an early 5-0 lead in the first game before GP closed the gap to 10-7, but there the 'Cats went on a 8-0 run to build an 18-7 lead and held on to win 25-13.
Game two saw the girls down 2-0 early, but tied the game at 4. The two teams went back and forth for some time, neither team leading by more than one, until the score got to 10-10. There Oak Harbor went on a 5-1 run to build a 15-11 lead, then another run to lead 20-12 before closing out game two 25-14.
Game 3 was a little closer, but not by much as Oak Harbor proved to be just too much for the visitors, winning the final game 25-16.
In the sub-varsity matches, GP won both the JV and Freshman matches 3-0.
The volleyball girls are on the road twice next week. They travel to league-leading Meadowdale on Tuesday, and on Thursday hope to avenge an early-season 3-1 loss to Stanwood.
The following week the 'Cats 2-2(2-7 overall) close out their home season with matches on both Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday they host the 2-2(7-3 overall) Everett Seagulls, and on the final home match of the season host winless Marysville Getchell.
