XC 2013-10-03 - City Beach

Thursday afternoon the OH Wildcat Cross Country team hosted their one and only home meet at City Beach park. Marysville Getchell and Shorewood were the visitors.

In the boys JV race, Oak Harbor captured 4 of the top 10 spots.  Stephen Miller was 2nd, Joe Gorman 4th, Mathew Nortier 7th and Seth Gluth 9th.

The girls team nearly recorded a perfect score, with Wildcats in the top 4 spots and 6 of the top 10.  Alex Laiblin was first, Jonalynn Horn 2nd, Laura Rodeheffer 3rd, Marisa Sligh 4th, Carolynn Wicker 6th and Suzanne Kaltenbach 8th.

The Oak Harbor girls were so dominant that it was nearly 2 minutes after Laiblin crossed the finish line that the first non-Wildcat crossed.  Laiblin finished the 4,600 meter course in 18:37 while the first Shorewood girl crossed in 20:14.  OH won the girls portion of the race with 16 points (low score wins).  Getchell had 54 and Shorewood 64.

The boys varsity was just a dominant.  John Rodeheffer was first in 15:11, Clayton Richardson 2nd in 15:33, and the first Shorewood runner was 3rd in 16:03.  While the Wildcats were 1st and 2nd, Shorewood had a lot of depth, resulting in a tie between the two teams.  OH and Shorewood both scored 30 points while Getchell had 76.
