Boys Tennis 2012-10-04 vs Getchell

Thursday afternoon the OH boys tennis team took on the Getchell Chargers in the next-to-last home match of the year.

This was one of their toughest matches of the year and was very close right to the end.

The three OH doubles team got swept in straight sets, and the #1 and #4 singles players won their matches, leaving the result of the match to the #2 and #3 players, David Kusnick and Carter Saar, and both men went into tiebreakers in their second set.

Kusnick won his first set 6-4, and won the second 7-6 in a marathon 12-10 tiebreaker.

Now it was up to Saar.  Carter fell in the first set 6-4, then dug in to win the second 7-6 in after 5 tiebreakers.  In the final and match-deciding set, Saar settled down and quickly dispatched his opponent 6-1, giving the Wildcats a well-deserved 4-3 victory.

At the same time, the JV team was in Marysville, and could pull out only a single win.  Jared Hunt won 6-2, 4-6, 13-11 at 4th singles.

2nd and 3rd doubles lost in straight sets, but went deep into tiebreakers before falling.

The varsity team winds up the season next week with a home match Monday against Shorecrest, then visiting Pilchuck on Wednesday.

The JV team will be at Shorecrest on Monday then at home Wednesday to end their season.
