It was a cold day offensively for all 3 Oak Harbor teams Monday at Snohomish as all 3 teams went down to the Panthers.
Not much will be said about the freshman game, except that the final score was 31-9, and the team went 1-for-13 from the free throw line. Kaitlynn Rossman scored 6, DJ 2 and Lia Pantoleon 1.
JV did better, holding a 12-8 1st period lead, and was down only 2, 20-18 at the half. Snohomish built their lead slightly in the 3rd, which ended 29-23. However, the girls just couldn’t cut the lead and lost 44-34, going just 9-20 from the line. Mariah Ferguson and Molly DeLeon led the JV squad with 9 each. Shantae Young had 7, Jessica James 3, while Yoshi, Tatiana Cumming and Adrianna Royal scored 2 each.
When the varsity game started, Snohomish was 5-0 in league, and at the end was 6-0 while the Wildcats fell to 2-2. The girls just couldn’t get things going in the 1st period, falling behind 15-2. Things got better in the 2nd as the team scored 11 points, but were still behind 27-13 at halftime. The girls at one point closed to 8 points, but another poor offensive output in the 4th sealed the Panther win, 56-29. 3 players tied for high score honors with 7 points each – Kathryn Fisken, Jennifer Jansen and Jessica Denmon. Nikki Mowbray added 6 and Clarissa Abadesco 2.
The girls are at home vs Marysville on Wednesday the 14th.
