Middle School Volleyball - 11-15 and 11-17-2011

On Tuesday, November 15th, the middle school volleyball season kicked off with Oak Harbor Middle School crossing the highway for a match at North Whidbey Middle School.

OHMS won the 7th grade JV match 3-0, but in 7th grade varsity action, North Whidbey dominated, winning the first game 25-9, then capturing game two 25-21 and game three 25-15.

North Whidbey won the 8th grade JV match 2-1. In 8th grade varsity, NWMS won the first game 25-15, but the OHMS Panthers came back to win game two 25-19. In the third and deciding game, the NWMS Cougars dug in and took the game 25-16 and winning the match 2-1.

Two days later the Panthers hosted Mt. Baker MS from Mt. Vernon at OHMS. The 7th grade varsity squad won fairly easily, winning 3-0 with game scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-12.

In 8th grade action, the varsity squad lost a close 25-21 game one and an even closer 26-24 game two. Game three was not completed due to time running out, but the Panthers were ahead 20-16 and it counts as a win.

There are no home volleyball matches for either school for the rest of the month. Action resumes on December 6th when Anacortes visits the NWMS Cougars.
