Eagle Run 2012-04-28

If you weren't at Windjammer Park Saturday morning at 8am, you missed the 2012 Eagle Run put on by the Oak Harbor Christian School.

The morning had two races - a kid-friendly 1-mile fun run and a more serious 5 kilometer race.

The 1-mile race featured 71 runners and was won by 13-year old Caleb Thompson from Oak Harbor, finishing in a time of 5:17.59.  Caleb also ran in the 5k race, finishing 5th overall.  The first adult to cross the finish line in the 1-mile race was 21-year old Kathryn Fisken, a 2009 OHHS grad.  Last, but certainly not least, were a pair of 3-year olds who went the entire mile holding hands and crossed the finish line together.

Photos from the 1-mile race, generally in finish order, are posted HERE.

Complete 1-mile results are HERE.

In the 5k race, local runner Andrew Wyman was again the winner, finishing in a time of 16:52.93.  The first under-14 male was Logan Clark who finished 3rd overall with a time of 18:35.95.

Twelve year old Laura Rodeheffer was first female to cross the line, in 6th place overall with a time of 19:59.

Janel Thompson, 38, of Oak Harbor was the first adult female.  Janel was 21st overall with a time of 23:25.94.

Photos of all the 5k finishers are posted HERE.  5k runners are identified by bib number if it was visible.

Complete 5k results are HERE.

In all there were 131 finishers in this years' version of the race.
