The Oak Harbor varsity baseball regular season ended on a high note earlier this week with a pair of 8-1 victories over Getchell. Robert Herring went 3-4 with a nice 3-RBI triple with bases loaded in the first inning.
The wins push the Wildcats to 11-4 for the season (13-6 overall) and are the #3 seed in the 3A District tournament starting this Saturday.
Oak Harbor starts the tournament this Saturday with a home game against the #6 seed team (yet to be determined (either Meadowdale or Mountlake Terrace).
After the Wildcats win on Saturday, the 2nd round game will be against the Shorewood/Getchell winner and will be at the Meridian Park Fields in Shoreline on Tuesday the 12th.
In the event the Wildcats fall, their 2nd round game will be at home, against the Getchell/Shorewood loser.
Photos from the home game vs Getchell are posted HERE.
The JV season ended Tuesday after a pair of losses against Getchell. Their season league record was 2-13, 4-16 overall. The league wins were both over Everett, with the two additional non-league wins against Cascade and Mariner.
