The Oak Harbor Christian School basketball teams are a little different than the OHMS and NWMS. While the public schools allow only 7th and 8th graders to play, and on separate teams, OHCS has one combined 6/7/8 team, one for boys and one for girls, and they both play at the same time.
On Thursday the 22nd, the Eagles hosted Ebenezer Christian School from Lynden.
The girls team went first at 3:45, and although a little slow at the beginning, the Eagles played to a 6-3 1st period lead, and increased the lead to 19-11 at the half. Things soured in the 3rd, as the Eagles only scored 5 points while letting Ebenezer take the lead by allowing 16 3rd period points. The girls got their game back in the 4th, hitting for 11 points, but it was 4 points too few as the girls fell to Ebenezer 39-35. Morgan Y. led the Eagles with 19 points, Emily scored 8, and Lizzie, Annie, Lindsey and Sydney scored 2 points each.
In the boys game, Ebenezer dominated completely throughout the game. By halftime the score was 31-4 in favor of the visitors and 43-6 at the end of the 3rd. The boys went on a scoring tear in the 4th, dropping in 10 points while holding Ebenezer to 8, but in the end it was all Ebenezer 51-16. Jake was tops with 6 points, Ben scored 4, while Gavin and Caleb netted 3 points each.
The next Eagles home game is next Wednesday the 28th. Admission is free.

Thank you so very much for coming to Oak Harbor Christian School! It meant a lot to the girls and to myself, their coach. Thanks again for all the time you spent at our game. All these pictures are wonderful! We really appreciate it!
