Track 2011-04-21 @ Arlington

For the first time this year, the Oak Harbor girls did not win a track meet. At Arlington vs the host Eagles and Marysville, the Wildcat women did well in the running events, with 4 wins, 6 2nd places and 5 3rd place finishes in 8 events plus the 3 relays. However, in the field events, Oak Harbor's Dominique Jackson was the only top-3 finisher, getting 3rd place in the shot put. Arlington captured wins in 6 of the 7 field events and ended the meet scoring 88 points. Oak Harbor was second with 53 and Marysville 3rd with 48.

Oak Harbor winners were Janessa Ramos in the 200m dash, Jember Jansen in the 400m dash, Adrianna Royal in the 800m run and Allison Duvenez in the 300m hurdles.

The boys also did well in the running events, getting wins in 5 of the 10 events, but like the girls didn't fare well in the field events. Josiah Miller was the top Wildcat finisher in the field, earning 2nd in the triple jump and Keon Crumpton was 3rd in the shot put. Arlington and Oak Harbor boys scored the same points at their female counterparts - Arlington 88 and Oak Harbor 53, with Marysville coming in with 40.

Winners for Oak Harbor on the boys side were Aaron Boesch in the 100. Teammate Josiah Miller was second, and the two traded places in the 200m dash with Miller first and Boesch 2nd. Josh Schrum and Matt Reith went 1-2 in the 900m dash and Reith also won the 3200m run. The boys 4x100 relay team of Boesch, Miller, Carlton Johnson and Cody Hernkind won by .08 seconds.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, the weekly All-Comers meet was held at Everett Memorial Stadium. Of the posted results, freshman Sam Hawkins was the top finisher in both the girls 100 and 200m dash, the shot put and long jump. Heather Dale is listed first in the 1600m run, Carlie Kenny in the 3200 and Sadie Strain in the pole vault.

For the boys, Jayden Davilla won the 200m dash and Triple Jump, Wyatt Homola the 800 and 1600m runs, James Harrison the pole vault and Julian Faralan the long jump.

We will be going to next week's All-Comers meet so look for photos next Tuesday or Wednesday.
