Track 2014-04-24 at Marysville

Oak Harbor met up with Glacier Peak and host Pilchuck last week for a tri meet at Quil Ceda Stadium in Marysville.

In total points scored, the boys team lost to both GP and MP, while the girls split, besting Pilchuck and falling to Glacier Peak, but individually, the Wildcats did well.

The boys team swept the distance events, winning the 800 (Sebastian Ceasar - a season best 2:05.6), 1600 (John Rodeheffer) and 3200 (Rodeheffer).  Dejon Devroe also won the 400m dash in a season-fastest 50.81 to complete the Wildcat event wins.

Devroe also finished 2nd in the 200m dash and was a member of the 2nd place 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Carlton Johnson was 2nd in the 100 and was also in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Daniel Nunes and Kris Medina rounded out both relay teams.

Chris Humphries was 6th in the triple jump, but set a new PR of 17-1 and David Ray jumped 4-8 in the high jump - his best ever.

Other top 3 finishers for the boys:
Daniel Nunes - 2nd 200m dash and 3rd 400m dash
Jared Gray - 3rd 300m hurdles

On the girls side, Alex Laiblin won the 3200m run for the lone Wildcat track win, but in field events, Taylor Deconzo (shot put), Kenna Prosch (discus - PR 84-7) and Claire Anderson (high jump) all won their events.

While Oak Harbor didn't win any of the sprint events, they showed a lot of depth.  In the 100m dash, for example, Sierra Seabolt was 3rd, Janae Payne 4th, Priya Osborne 5th, Matti Miesle 6th and Jinai Guzman 7th.

There were similar results in the 200, with Oak Harbor picking up 4th through 8th place.

Other top 3 placers for the girls:
Laiblin - 3rd in the 800m run (PR 2:29.30)
Jonalynn Horn - 2nd in the 1600 and 3200
Nalani Gabbert - 3rd in the 100m hurdles
Jackie Dejesus - 2nd in the 300m hurdles
4x100m relay - 2nd (Payne, Seabolt, Guzman and Kiesha Watts)
4x200m relay - 3rd (Seabolt, Watts, Guzman and Alana Austin)
4x400m relay - 3rd (Dejesus, Laiblin, Deja Bunch and Suzanne Kaltenback)
