Girls Tennis update

Due to some rain, the Oak Harbor girls tennis team was able to complete only two of the scheduled 3 meets this past week.  Thursday's match against Lynnwood was started, then suspended due to rain and will be completed at a later date, to be determined.

Tuesday the girls were at home against a strong Lake Stevens team, coming out on the short end of a 6-1 score.  Winning her match was junior AnnaBelle Whitefoot, getting a 6-2, 6-0 victory at 2nd singles.

Friday, on a very windy day, the 'Cats doubled their victories, with both 1st and 2nd singles getting wins over their Mt. Vernon opponents.

Makenzie Perry won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 as did Whitefoot, but her match was a marathon that didn't end until nearly 6pm.  The final score in that match was 7-6(4), 6-4.

Tamia Rios at 3rd singles went to 3 sets before falling 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-1.

In doubles action, the 1st team of Hannah Gluth and Ellysa Bonganay nearly forced a 3rd set, taking the 2nd set to 7 tiebreakers before losing 6-1, 7-6(7).

In exhibition action, Elma Marie Empinado and Julia Smith teamed up to win 8-6.
