More softball

Another day of softball, this time a double-header against Cascade. It was a MUCH nicer day - a bit warmer and no wind.

I left before the end of the first game, but did see a couple of exciting plays. On the varsity side, Anna Skurdal at third base snagged a bases loaded line drive then tagged the runner trying to get back to third for a solo double play. It was a nice reaction catch, but the turn and dive to tag the runner before she could get back to the bag shows some heads-up ball playing!

In the outfield, Jessica Kallander caught a fly ball into short center, turning her glove at the last minute, at a full run.

Over at the JV field, the bats were active, and we had plenty of base runners. The found it fairly easy to advance on steals, as the Cascade catcher was having difficulty holding onto the ball. I think I witnessed at least 3 steals, all in 2 innings!

I was also able to get a few pictures of the varsity tennis team, but they were finishing up when I got there, so didn't get many. Sorry, ladies... maybe next time.

Hope to see you at Thursday's home track meet!
