The boys JV tennis team struggled in their first match against visiting Lake Stevens, falling 7-0 to the Vikings.
Kyle Martin played well at 1st singles before falling 6-3, 6-2, and the Wildcats were forced to forfeit 3rd doubles due to a lack of players. Next week the JV team is at home on Wednesday, Sep 12th against Everett and Thursday against Getchell. They're on the road Monday at Stanwood.
While the JV team was at home, the varsity team was in Lake Stevens.
The 'Cats split the singles matches, with David Kusnick at 2nd singles winning a 3-set match 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 and Carter Saar winning 6-4, 6-3. All other Wildcat players fell in straight sets, giving the Vikings a 5-2 victory. The varsity team opens home play next Monday with a match against Stanwood on the courts at OHHS.
