There were two big stories at Oak Harbor's Vanderzicht Memorial Pool Monday evening. One was the big 113-57 win over visiting Edmonds, where Wildcat swimmers captures first place in 9 of the 12 scoring events, 2nd place in five others and 3rd place in 9 events.
The other story is freshman Emily Huffer. In her very first high school meet, she won 2 individual events and two relay teams and reached state qualifying times in 3 of the events. She qualified in the 50 free and 100 backstroke and as part of the 200 medley relay team.
The Wildcat Women hit the pool again next Monday here in Oak Harbor, hosting Glacier Peak and Snohomish.
Photos of both teams are posted HERE at WESCOAthletics.com
