Boys Basketball 2-2-2010 at Arlington

The three boys basketball teams did not fare well in Arlington Tuesday night, but for the first time this year the Oak Harbor Sports Report was able to get some video highlight clips from the freshman game. There have also been some changes on the floor. Dayne Herron was moved from the freshman team to JV, and Matt Burgoyne is now floating to varsity and got some playing time in the 2nd quarter.

In that Frosh game, Arlington dominated OH, holding the team to just 10 points in the first half. The Wildcats came out and nearly doubled their score in the 3rd period, but Arlington was just too much and won 67-26. Kiefer Hermann led the team with 9 point and Chris Hailer added 5. Isaiah Trower, London Cook, Trenton Cargill, Anfernee Angkaw, Michael LaBelle and Noel Cheeseboro scored 2 point each.

Problems scoring was the downfall of the JV team as they found themselves down 13-6 in the first. Things didn't improve much as JV lost 55-32. Burgoyne was on top with 9 point, Kevawn Brook 7, David Tillotson 5, Herron 4, Patrick Bell 3, Connor Paul 2 and Corey Houck 1.

Oak Harbor scored with 6 different players in the 1st period while building a 15-10 lead, but only 3 scored in the 2nd as Arlington took a 24-22 lead into halftime. In the 2nd half the offense got points on the board, but had problems stopping Arlington. A couple of scores from nearly halfcourt and speeding past the Wildcat defense let the Eagles increase their lead to 43-34 at the end of the 3rd. OH was able to close to within 5 in the final period, but Arlington held on to win 61-48. One major positive from the game was the shooting from the free throw line. As a team the Wildcats sank 16 of 18 attempts, with Trace Paul and Jay Stout hitting 100% and Mike Washington, Jr, going 7-of-8.

Next for the Wildcat boys is Senior Night on Friday against Stanwood.

Here is a video clip from the games. Included is Freshman, JV and Varsity action.
