Wresting 2010-02-05&6 - WESCO Tournament at Marysville

The 2-day WESCO district tournament kicked off Friday at Marysville with the Wildcats entering a total of 19 wrestlers. The Wildcats were fairly successful the first day, ending with 4 wrestlers in the winners bracket and 11 alive overall.

The first round Saturday did not go well for OH as every match was lost, knocking the team out of any chance to win an individual title. However, there were plenty of spots left as the top 8 finishers qualify for next week's Regional tournament in Auburn.

By the end of the day's wrestling, 4 Wildcats qualified for regionals with one more as an alternate. Corey Trimbur finished in 4th place at 103 lbs as did Colton Elliot at 140 lbs. Brandon Stratton was 3rd at 145 and Zach Loescher 5th at 171 lbs. Justin Everett is the 152 lb alternate. Steven Souza and Hunter Vail both finished in 10th place and will to go Auburn as 2nd alternates at the regional tournament.
