Girls Tennis - Wednesday and Friday

The OH girls varsity tennis team traveled to Lake Stevens on Wednesday and won yet again, their 3rd in a row. The match was a make-up of an earlier rained out match.

The difference was in single play. All 4 OH singles players won again, 4-3, with all the singles girls winning in straight sets and Laurin Rico blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0.

At OHHS, Cassie Gianino won her match 6-2, 6-2, but it was the only scoring win for the Wildcats. Chelsey McKenzie did well in her first ever singles match, playing hard and keeping it close before losing 5-7, 5-7.

The only other OH win of the day was an extra doubles match where Erdylle Macapinlac and Corinne SHumate won 4-2.

Friday's JV results aren't yet available, but the varsity team won their 4th in a row, defeating Arlington on their home court 4-3. As is the pattern, all the single girls won, and won convincingly. Cady O'Dell won 6-0, 6-1, Erin Neilon 6-1, 6-1 and Laurin Rico 6-4, 6-1. Clarissa Abadesco had the only close single match, but won 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles, Alexa Holmly and Shannon Neilon lost the first set 0-6, recovered to win the second 6-3 then fell in the tiebreaker 5-7. in extra doubles matches, Darcy Fremd and Nicole McKenzie won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
