BBB 2011-01-25 at Mountlake Terrace

With just a few more games left in the 2010-2011 season, the OH boys basketball teams traveled to the Mountlake Terrace Hawks and came away with 3 losses.

In the freshman game, the Wildcats were outscored 48-17 in the first 3 quarters as they fell 52-29. Rys Mattila had a good game, scoring 9 of his 15 points in the 4th period. Diamonte "Cortez" Ridley and Matt Zafra each added 4 while Andrae Gray and Gabriel Groenig scored 3 each.

The JV game was similar, with the Hawks taking a commanding lead in the first 3 quarters. In this game it was 48-29 with a final of 54-41. Drew Washington hit four 3-pointers for his team-leading 12 points. Zach Gibbs scored 7, Corey Houck 6, Kiefer Hermann 4 and with 2 points each were Cameron Faulkner, Devontay Sutalo, Paul Johannsen, Jackson Knoll, Anfernee Angkaw and Forrest Brown.

Varsity action was much closer. Oak Harbor opened the game by taking a 15-11 lead, but some unfortunate passes and missed free throws let MLT tie the game with 3:40 left in the 1st half then they took a 23-22 lead with just over 2 minutes left. At halftime the score was OH 22, MLT 25. The Wildcat offense stayed cold in the 3rd period, scoring just 6 points as Terrace took a 38-28 lead. In the 4th, OH wasn't able to cut into the Hawk lead and fell 40-49.
