GBB 2012-01-23 vs Everett

It was not a good night for the OHHS girls basketball teams Monday night against the visiting Everett Seagulls.

The "C" team did not score any points in the first quarter while allowing 16 and never got on track offensively. In the end it was Everett 45, OH 22. Tierra White scored 8, Irene Gribble and KC Winfield 5 each and Jessica Hollins 4.

In the JV game, OH lead 8-6 at the first horn, but scored only a single free throw in the 2nd and only 4 points in the 3rd. Everett won 31-20. Liz Lym scored 8 for the 'Cats, Hayley Lundstrom 4, and Melanie Callaway, Brook Peplinski, Sierra Southwick and Danielle Teasley scored 2 each.

Annie Leete scored 11 of 17 Oak Harbor points in the first quarter and drained six 3-pointers in the game, but OH could not keep up with the Everett offense, falling 72-37. Leete finished with 22 points, Ciera Wiser 7, Dominique Jackson 3, Jalani Bobo and Marissa Lewis 2 each and Rayan Russell 1.

The girls are at home again Wednesday against Meadowdale, then hit the road Friday at Mountlake Terrace, then Saturday in a makeup game at Shorewood. Next week, on Feb 2nd, the girls have senior night against Marysville-Getchell.
